If you feel anxious about having dental treatment, rest assured you’re not alone. It’s very common to be worried about going to the dentist, or even to experience dental phobia. At Dunelm Orthodontic Centre we believe you deserve the best dental care possible. 

We know that your dental health is intrinsically linked to your overall health, and that visiting the dentist can be nerve-wracking. We recommend you let us know if you feel nervous about visiting the orthodontist when you make your appointment.

Helpful techniques

There are a number of ways to alleviate your dental anxieties, some of which you can put into practice before you even arrive.

• Book a morning appointment, so you’re not worried about it all day.
• Remember that your first appointment is only a consultation: you can talk everything through with us ahead of treatment.
• Bring a friend with you to your appointment to help give you support.
• Talk to family and friends about their positive experiences at the dentist.
